Yes, the Newfies can spend their life locked in an enclosure, but being a watchdog, not a pet, he wouldn't ever reveal even ten per cent of the potentiality given to him by nature. To make this dog happy it is not enough just to feed him/her, the owner should pay special attention as if it is a full family member.
